Fingers Blown Off By Shotgun Accident

Vanderbilt Train Sidetracked In Ames Yard Blackout
Alfred G. Vanderbilt and his private car Wayflower were sidetracked in Ames yards last Saturday. The 12 train ran about five hours late from Boone, its engine failing and being removed. Number 12 was backed onto a sidetrack and Vanderbilt’s car attached to its rear.

Des Moines athlete Robert E. Jaenson known as Jobby Jaenson, former captain of Iowa State College Cyclones in 1906, left for Houston to start a Texas fruit growing life. A Des Moines native, he starred as West High quarterback in 1908, then played varsity quarterback at Iowa State, and captained the 1906 team while also excelling in baseball. He later coached Harlan high school football last fall and was linked to Hopkins Bros. sporting goods in Des Moines.
