Marshall Hemstreet born February 6 1841 in Russia Herkimer County New York died February 8 1906 at his Ames Iowa home. He served in Co G 12th New York and Co G 157th New York during the Civil War and later held Methodist Episcopal church roles, school board, and city council service. Survived by seven of eight children his funeral was held at the Ames Methodist church with G A R and other fraternal services noted.
