Rural route carrier Henry May of Ames was seriously injured Monday afternoon when his buggy tipped after a line snapped as he watered a team at Gene Livingstone’s farm northeast of the city. Physicians treated a fractured hip, and a local relief effort raised about 150 dollars for his recovery.
