Uncle Hiram Taylor aged 72 of this city wed Miss Mattie Wilson of Montezuma in Des Moines last Thursday. The couple rekindled a long friendship after prior marriages and will reside in a new Clark Street home with Mrs Taylor moving to Mr Taylor’s daughter's house briefly first.
Dr. Christ unveiled his Lambert two cylinder car last Saturday morning and immediately started it. The vehicle is described as one of the best in its class. The purchaser secured the agency for the machine when he made the purchase.
Mr and Mrs H K Campbell visit Table Grove Illinois and Clinton before he travels to Chicago for two weeks. There he will study printing toning and other trade details at major photographic supply plants to improve his collodio carbon prints and prepare for the coming year. He expects to return to Ames within three weeks.

Senator William Boyd Allison, senior U.S. senator from Iowa and longtime counselor, died at his Dubuque home on Tuesday at 1:33 p.m. after a heart failure triggered by Monday’s heat. His illness began Saturday and he worsened Sunday and Monday, with Dr. Hancock at his side throughout.
Iowa State College has secured use of the former state fair offices building for its exhibits during the fair. In past years the college displays were scattered, but this year they will be centralized in the now secured building for better organization.
The college will centralize activities in one building creating advantages for staff and visitors. It will run a miniature summer school during the state fair week to showcase the institution’s work.
The Times received a letter from W. J. Gilmore a senior civil engineer. Will is a Story County boy now in Cheyenne Wyoming employed by the Union Pacific Railway. His kindness provided material for this weeks news item.

Dad Childs, long employed by Mutual Telephone Co, has left that firm and will begin as solicitor for Bell Telephone Company in this city. He starts Tuesday morning, cited change in management as a factor. With Parks and Childs leading, the Bell Telephone is expected to prosper.
Gene Roll started work at the Gibson restaurant and ice cream parlor yesterday. An veteran city caterer, Roll has many years in the business with Roll Bros. and is regarded as one of the region’s best soft drink mixers along the pike.
