Robert Cook Hemstreet and Sadie Eliza Griffis of Albion New York were married Tuesday July 28 in Cleveland Ohio. Both bride and groom are deaf mutes and the ceremony was written. Miss Griffis graduated from Galandet College for the Deaf in 1899 and Mr Hemstreet from the same school in June. He is a printer with J B Savage Printing in Cleveland and will visit Ames with his parents after visiting Albion.
City council met in regular session to review bills and routine business. The park committee proposed an arc light in the center and four incandescent lights at intervals. next Monday they will resume work on grades and sidewalks.
We express our gratitude to neighbors and Ames citizens for their helpful assistance and heroic conduct during the recent fire at our place which prevented its spread and saved the property. Their kindness will be gratefully remembered by Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Hutonison.
