New Ames Knights of Pythias Lodge Organized
Last Thursday night at the Odd Fellows hall Ames lodge No. 150 Knights of Pythias was organized by Grand Chancellor McCoy and D D G C W M Crowe. Central lodge No. 73 of Boone conferred degrees on twenty three neophytes and the new officers were installed. A large delegation from Story City and Nevada attended and a reception followed in the dining room.

Barn Fire Destroys Graves Farm Barn and Livestock
Last Friday around 10 45 pm the Sadie Graves farm barn two and a half miles south of town burned completely. Eight horses, 500 bushels of corn, hay, straw, harnesses, and machinery were lost. Guy Barop, the resident, faced heavy uninsured losses while the barn was insured for 500 dollars and livestock for 900 dollars. Origin of the fire remains unknown.
