Letters from Cavite Soldier Describe Trenches near Manila
Willis reports from Pasay and Cavite during February and March 1899. He details marching, trench work with the 14th Regulars and W. D. boys, constant skirmishes with insurgents, occasional heavy fire, and efforts to improve living conditions such as bamboo floors and water filtering. He notes mail from home, transfers to the signal corps, and plans to send Manila papers and a map.
