Government Homesteads Open to Settlement in Sioux Lands

One and a half million acres of farming and grazing land will be opened for settlement in the Cheyenne River and Standing Rock Indian Reservations from October 4 to 23. Registration will be at Aberdeen and Pierre with direct rail service via The Chicago & North Western Ry. Information on rates and 160 acre government homesteads available from ticket agents. A Nevada band concert runs from 1:00 p m with continued performances into the afternoon. At 1:30 p m the Worlds Famous Shrums open the vaudeville lineup followed by the Story County Field event at 1:45 p m. A slow mule race appears at 2:45 p m with more vaudeville at 2:50 p m and a concluding program around 4:00 p m.
