Vermont voters deliver a strong showing as Republicans win 233 seats in the 242 member legislature. The near 30,000 margin signals solid GOP control and sets a high bar for party performance in off year elections.
The Sioux City Tribune notes the Board of Supervisors are in session and warns residents to guard finances amid recent developments in northwestern Iowa city.

J H Shephard director of the North Dakota Experiment Station visited the college. Various faculty and students are noted visiting sites in Ottawa Turin Ames and Davenport. A football game report shows Iowa Agricultural College defeating Ft Dodge 46 to 0. Debates and lectures are mentioned along with staff changes and a physician moving to Philadelphia.
