E L Taylor Dies. Masons Attend Funeral in Arcadia
E L Taylor died last Friday of heart disease after years of illness and was buried Sunday afternoon in our cemetery. Born in 1834 in Ohio, he moved to Illinois at age two and later to Story County where he lived except for a Madrid absence. A longtime farmer near Nevada, he leaves a widow and five adult daughters. A respected Arcadia Lodge member, his funeral at the Methodist Church featured Masonic rites and music, with over 60 Masons present from Nevada Boone and Cambridge. Arcadia Lodge 249 AF and AM adopted resolutions praising his fidelity and fellowship and offering sympathy to his family.
