Mrs Hi Trueesdall of Ontario and Enoch Thurman with wife from Ontario are seriously ill. Des Moines visitors include Miss Rosa Bingman recovering health and Mrs Marian Scott of Marshalltown visiting her daughter. Numerous trips to Boone Ames Chicago and Detroit noted with family and social visits.
A local ad states that 58e American silver dollars are sought in exchange for merchandise at full value. The buyers promise to pay 100 cents per dollar and request applicable merchandise.
Ed Rex serves on a U.S. district grand jury this week in Ames. Captains Hull Hall and Hall are slated to speak here with election notices and military exercises planned. A report from Excelsior Springs Missouri claimed W H H Grove was seen there but a family investigation found the man did not match Grove. He was rumored to have been seen in Morrison Illinois, a Morrison paper described him, and a local man near Morrison says he saw the described person.
The department of music announces an autumn schedule with a pupil recital on Friday October 27 at 8 pm in the college chapel and a Choir Benefit on Friday November 3 at 5 pm. First half features Miss Marie Chambers Miss Genevieve Westermann and reader Miss May Usher Griffin from Boston. Second half presents the Grasshopper Cantata by the choir. Admission is twenty five cents.
Letter to the editor from J. E. Duncan, postmaster, warning that Sunday evening mail delivery at the Ames post office will be halted if rowdy behavior continues. The office will instead stay open one hour at noon as before.
President Hutchison calls all wheel owners to assemble at city hall Friday evening to organize a tournament. The notice stresses collective planning and community participation for the event.

Epworth League hosts a Columbian supper netting over 20 dollars in Brown building. C C Davis to preach at Pleasant Grove chapel for the coming year.
