Death Ends Long Fight on Train Home to Ames
Adolph Dahlgren of Des Moines died on a westbound train near Ames as he neared home from Colorado after months seeking recovery from a wasting disease. He was 27, born in Sweden, and had lived in Des Moines before traveling to Denver for hope, then returning. His body was identified by a pocket card and sent to Des Moines for burial.
