Final Tribute For Norma Read Aged Ninteen
The funeral of Norma Read was held at the family home after noon last Friday. Prof. A M Newans delivered the discourse. Norma, born March 25 1882, died after an eleven day struggle at nineteen, completing high school in Ames Class of 98 and pursuing college work in the junior year. Her life showed steady growth, bashful yet brave, and she inspired many in Ames and in her family. The speaker reflected on life, death, and development as eternal, praising her gentle strength and the memories she leaves behind in home and community.
