About thirty farmers form the Macon county party with another thirty from Sullivan Monticello Assumption Cerro Gordo and Maron in a delegation over 100. Many farmers sold land at 75 or 90 per acre and bought larger Iowa farms at 30 to 42 per acre. Land here rents at 5 and 6 while Iowa rents run 2 to 2.75. Decatur agencies reported 2736 acres sold for 133700 and 4300 acres for 163400.
