A second alarm alerted the town Monday to a fire at Peter Christofferson’s home. A leaking gasoline stove, lit after a prior installation, ignited residual oil but the fire was contained with only a burned window curtain and ceiling charring reported.
Historical text describes Chamberlains Pain Balm as an antiseptic liniment for cuts bruises and burns and mentions court filings in Story County Iowa including probate real estate notices and divorce proceedings with various named parties and dates from 1908. The fragmentary notices cover land ownership wills and legal actions in Nevada and Ames areas amid district court terms and local social notes.
In District Court of Stony County Iowa the last will of Harvey J. Howard is presented for probate. A hearing is set for August 26 1903 at the District Court in Nevada to determine acceptance of the instrument as the will.
