July Sale Offers Half Price Shoes and Clothing
A July sale lists 500 pairs of shoes and oxfords at half price. A large lot of clothing including suits and trousers also half price. Black suits at 5 dollars drop to 2.50. Men’s pants 90 cents reduced to 45. Shirt waists clear at 26 cents. Linens including lawns and organdies 12 to 2 yards and 6 cents fall to 10 cents per yard.
Accident Kills Near Johnsons Grove
TILDEN BROS. & Co. Ole Edwinson living near Johnsons Grove northeast of this city was kicked by a sick horse while doctoring it. The horse struck him in the forehead crushing his skull and leaving him unconscious in critical condition. Death has since been reported.

Baron Herman visits Iowa agricultural program
Baron Herman, an attache of the German Embassy, toured the Iowa State College farm and surrounding farms south and west of Ames to study state agriculture under his government’s instructions. He expressed satisfaction with the observed work and planned to visit Dubuque for the weekend.
