The infant child of Mr and Mrs Arthur Ross died Sunday morning and was buried Monday Jan 28 with Rev C C Davis conducting. Miss Hattie Jones of Sac County visits relatives nearby. J B Johnsons Birthday party Saturday evening drew few due to severe weather, but attendees enjoyed it. An artist Mr Griggs photographed local schools and the mayor welcomed the Farmers Institute at Maxwell with remarks by Pres Furnas. Institute sessions covered orchard fruit, mutual insurance, corn fodder, and soil fertility with discussions by area farmers and Prof Patrick. The afternoon closed with a talk on Fertility and a motion to adjourn to Feb 13 14 1595. Harper's Magazine announced a Joan of Arc serial by an unnamed author to begin in April.
