Proceedings of Story County Board First Day 1896
The Story County Board of Supervisors convened January 6 1896 with John Johnson and J B Shaw present Edwin Rex was sworn in as member elect and the board organized naming J B Shaw as chairman Bonds for county officers were approved and committee assignments set Superintendent of the Poor Farm and jail grounds oversight were allocated The board adjourned to January 7 with minutes approved and further financial documents discussed.
