The Intelligencer East reports on illnesses, visits, and social events around Ames. Mrs. Eugene Smith is sick with typhoid pneumonia while Cammeron and wife recover health after Texas trip. Miss Genevieve Minkler hosts at home and a dance of young guests ends with food and fun.
Lewis Foster entertained a party of young folks at his home Saturday night. Mr. Foster left Sunday for Marshalltown to school, staying with his sister Mrs Strang. Roos of Hancock county visits relatives here. Rev. Davis expects to fill his January 33 appointment. David Harnson has been greeting old time friends this week. Bud Zenor has a well drilled at his house. Let the good work go on. Wood furnished free of charge, leave orders with Bert Gibson. I B Johnsons arithmetic and Algebra school promising with twenty five in attendance. Mr Joishson is a rustier and we hope he continues in good work. Ovp Jor.

Last Saturday evening the young people formed the Kelley Choral Club and plan to meet twice a month at the Baptist church with the next gathering on January 19. Also noted: the Kelley Gun Club shoots January 16 with tar get and pigeon matches. Rev. Bennett the Cyclone Evangelist preaches at Congregational and will lead revival meetings locally.
