Mrs Jeffrey Dies After Six Week Illness In Ames
Mrs D J Jeffrey died at her Lynn Street home New Year’s morning after a six week illness from heart trouble and pneumonia. Funeral at her house conducted by Rev Nye with many friends present. Rev Smith and Rev Jeffrey of Chicago attended. She was born Sarah Caroline Vance in Ohio July 12 1851 and died aged 53 years 5 months 15 days. She taught primary Sabbath school since age fifteen and was State Superintendent of Primary Sabbath School Work. Survived by husband Dr J A Jeffrey and daughter Mrs Nellie Goodenough of Cole. Remains taken to Corning for burial.
