Abolished Amendment case questions constitutional adoption
The court examines whether a 1882 amendment banning alcoholic beverages was constitutionally agreed to by the eighteenth general assembly and ratified by voters. It finds the enrolled joint resolution does not prove proper two‑house adoption and that journals show insufficient alignment with constitutional requirements, thus the amendment is not part of the constitution.
