Illinois Central and Chicago & North Western railways announce excursions to Independence Iowa and Des Moines Iowa for August races with purses totaling 300000 dollars. Numerous horses compete including Allerton and Nancy Hanks. Tickets go on sale Aug 22 and return by Sept 5. Also ads for Great German Medicine tonics and local medical testimonials appear.
