County Fair Calls for Community Help and Fair Dates

West county residents urged to help make the fair a success with an exhibition showing local hands and brains. The fair is set for September 15 to 17. The Iowa State Band concert at the College last Thursday drew large crowds and praise from attendees. Nevada sent about forty visitors, and the performance was well received by both music lovers and critics. The band, led by Prof Phinney, and artists Salmon and Kendall earned admiration for their execution and contributions to Des Moines and Iowa.

College recital draws large crowd for opening term

The I A C Entertainment reports the first term recital by the college musical and elocutionary departments. Four artists appeared Miss Gratz Miss Chambers Mr Backus and Miss Thomas. audiences filled the hall after traveling on the new car line. The performances earned praise for violin vocal piano and storytelling readings.
