Weather Crop Bulletin for Week Ending April 16 1906
The first half of the week was generally fair and seasonable with the latter part showing showers and a heavy frost. Rainfall exceeded normal across districts delaying farming while average temperatures were near normal. Seeding oats spring wheat and barley progressed on well drained lands and grass lands were prepared for planting, but the season remains late and field work unfavorable. A few sunny dry days are needed to condition soil. Grass in meadows and pastures started well and fruit prospects are generally favorable.
