Hogs stolen from J D Clars west of Groom were traced to Childress where Everet Choc Smith Edward Smith and Obie Bibbee were jailed. Hogs trucked to Childress were sold. In Wellington Reed Wigham and Oral Martin were charged with stealing a truckload of hogs six miles northeast of town.

Fatal Am- arilloan kerosene heater blast claims life
Willis E. Brown 45 year old Santa Fe railroad special water service crew foreman died after a kerosene water heater exploded in his living car and office at Wellington Kansas yesterday morning. He suffered burns to 65 percent of his body and died at 1 45 pm. Brown had 17 years with the railroad and was overseeing a steam heating installation at the Wellington depot offices and Harvey House. Burial planned locally.
