Eight year old Jean Larsen was bound hand and foot in a stooped position for three days and nights due to being untidy. Her stepmother Vivian Larsen and father Niels Larsen were jailed as Jean, malnourished, received hospital treatment after police found her in the bathroom following neighbors' complaints.

More than 350000 people attended the Texas Tri-State Fair in Amarillo last week with over 50000 average daily attendance and perfect weather. Wilbur C. Betty Grace Johnson, six, died after being hit by a car driven by city employee G Knox Beall in Abilene. Witnesses said the child ran from a yard into the street. She died at 10:25 AM at a local hospital. she was the daughter of Mr and Mrs J J Johnson.
Lee Tubbs, 49, faces a murder complaint in the shotgun death of his brother Jack Tubbs, about 41, at a farm near Lubbock. Jack died from a shotgun wound after a family dispute. Lee is held in the county jail. Jurists delay filing as inquest and statements raise questions about proceeding.
