Hardie F Graves 44 of Amarillo died in a head on crash two miles west of Goodnight. Raymond Ballew of Memphis sustained minor injuries and was released from Clarendon hospital. Four Amarillo men Dick Breedlove Dave Borger John Hooten and Gerald Phipps were taken to St. Anthony's Hospital with Hooten in critical condition. Ballew's car caught fire after impact. The wreckage lay 90 feet apart. Graves and his companions were en route to Amarillo to visit relatives.

Small Boy on Skates Killed Beneath Auto
Charles Van Stewart age 7, child of Mr and Mrs D Granville Stewart of 320 Fast Tenth Avenue, was struck on Ninth Avenue and Tyler Street while roller skating between parked cars. Driver F C Hissong of 119 Arch Terrace stopped and, with J F Battenfield of 508 Jackson Street, rushed him to St Anthony's Hospital where he died. Physician said death was instant with skull fracture and chest crushed. Witnesses placed the car moving north on Tyler Street at about 15 miles per hour.
