Fire threatens Amarillo Hotel as guests flee in night dress
A brief hotel blaze at the Amarillo Hotel sent hundreds of guests into the street in night attire. No injuries or deaths reported. The fire started on the roof of the fourth floor in a tin motor house from a shorted electric motor. Aided by Officer Yeakle and staff, firefighters fought the flames while guests evacuated and later returned. The blaze damaged smoke and water lines, with extensive hose operation across Polk Street and the 300 blocks.

H Caffey a Santa Fe signal maintainer from Canadian loses a foot when his motor car on a sharp curve five miles west of Canadian is struck by a freight train at about 10 15 this morning. The foot is amputated above the ankle after arrival at Canadian Hospital. He was moved to hospital by Stickley Ambulance and is reported in satisfactory condition.

Truman Unhurt As Car Skids on Mountain Climb

Shamrock Man Burns in Farm House Fire Near Shamrock
C E Williams 54 was critically burned when a farm house 11 miles NW of Shamrock burned. He slept in the home of his sister, who is away in Oklahoma. He reached his father for help, then was taken to Shamrock General Hospital by Womack Ambulance at about 5 AM. He suffered severe burns to the head shoulder and legs. Williams has two children in Ada Oklahoma and a sister in Lela.

Elephant Herds Ready Big Top at Tri-State Fair Grounds
The Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus arrives near noon with nine elephant herds helping to erect the big top cook tent cages and tents at the Tri-State Fair Grounds. Two performances are slated for tomorrow at 2 15 and 8 15 with doors opening an hour before. Advance tickets were scarce but sales began yesterday at Walgreens and more than 50 people queued early.
