R Hamilton pleads not guilty at arraignment for the murder of Tom Walton Jr. in his law office. A special venire of 300 jurors is ordered as trial is set for June 13 in district court. Flood Waters Bring Death in Kansas Towns

Denver nurse sentenced to life for slaying hospital victim
Farice King a Denver nurse was sentenced to life in prison for shooting and killing John Bybzine, a Denver policeman, as he lay asleep in a hospital bed recovering from wounds from a police raid. She requested to visit graves of her baby and the victim before imprisonment. The judge did not decide that request. Amarillo Fire Kills Five at Tourist Hotel Tragedy
A three story wooden structure in Amarillo burned rapidly after a cigarette started a fire on the third floor. Five dead and twelve injured were reported as guests leaped to the pavement or fled through flames and smoke. Blind Proprietor Recalls Rescue From Hotel Fire
Fred Rogers operator of the hotel on room 204 said a night blaze started from a cigarette left alight by a sleeping roomer on the third floor. He fled his room with $109, a suitcase and an overcoat, reaching safety as firefighters arrived and Clark Cain assisted him down the ladder. Rogers has run the hotel since January 15 this year.
