The craft operated from Wake Island via Honolulu and radioed for ditching before going silent. Coast Guard planes searched 000 miles southwest of San Francisco but found no trace six hours after the ditching request. The DC4 was owned by Fae ries Management Corp of Glendale Los Angeles area.
