Sheriff Roach Names Goldstein as Right Man in Wichita Falls Diamond Theft
Burton Roach says Dr Archie Goldstein alias list is the man behind a $65 000 trunk theft at Wichita Falls station. Goldstein held in Chicago with $50 000 bond for extradi tion to Texas. LVPD and R G Sullenger traced the trunk to Oklahoma City where about $20 000 in gems were recovered. A decoy trunk and fake checks failed in Amarillo before the theft succeeded in Wichita Falls. The incident involved Joe Optican for Michael Levy Co of New York. Roach, candidate for re election, expects the rest of the jewels to be recovered as the ring mastermind is identified. Insurance covered the diamonds.
