A 30-foot plunge on Cliffside Road near Veterans Administration Hospital killed Kay Gulley, 25, and seriously injured Robert Gleaton, 19, and Johnny Carrington, 29. Witnesses said the car was northbound at high speed before skidding into a rocky gorge. Carrington suspected as driver.

Air Crash In Colombia Kills 37
A Colombian Airlines C46 with 44 aboard crashed near Planetarica and San Marcos in Cordoba. Thirty seven people were killed, including the pilot and copilot. The plane reported engine trouble while en route from Medellin to Cartagena, at 3500 feet and losing altitude.
