Another man, George Malden, was arrested nearby after an attempted kidnapping or burglary and a ground keeper fired at a climber to the Johnson nursery.

Wayne Kenyon, 3, son of Mr and Mrs A Kenyon of 606 Carolina Street, was struck by a car Friday evening and suffered a fractured skull. He remained in critical condition at Northwest Texas Hospital as of last night. The driver, Shirley Averitt of 3323 West Tenth Avenue, found the child and took him to the hospital.
The Chinese consul at New Orleans Hon. Joe Tong Lee was mistaken on a Panhandle highway near Amarillo by deputy sheriffs hunting a bootlegger. The chase ended with apologies, credentials shown, and Lee continuing to El Paso. He later spoke on China Japan tensions and Manchuria. Lee, educated in New York and Canton, taught English and held high rank titles.
Washington reports Capitol Hill disagreement over using Reconstruction Finance Corporation funds to finance foreign sales of surplus wheat and cotton. In Lamb County a second election for the county seat shows Olton with 936 votes and Littlefield with 2,925 reported unofficially. Amherst, within five miles of the center, can claim the seat with a simple majority. Unreported totals suggest 1,800 votes in Littlefield and 900 in Olton remain.
In Austin on March 19, District Judge J D Moore issued a temporary injunction blocking an ordinance requiring 10 cent bonds for taxis. A hearing set for Monday will decide if the injunction remains or becomes permanent. Dime taxis began in Austin by unemployed men owning cars. the bond requirement took effect today. P R Mims represented the taxi men in seeking to stop enforcement.
Doctor Frederick F. Wolter, who began a hunger strike against the low mood, was placed in Gallinger Hospital for care and observation this afternoon. He stated he would not eat and invited officials to watch him. Dr. Oscar Hunter of George Washington University Medical School reported a complete examination found that Wolter had taken a small amount of food.
