Samuel Insull departed from Piraeus aboard the Greek freighter Maitois after a secretive voyage to evade American justice. The 74 year old fugitive, sought on embezzlement and larceny charges, aimed for Djibouti but may be barred by lacking a French visa. He had previously embarked on the tramp steamer Maictis and was told he must leave Piraeus within 24 hours while pursuing a fresh refuge at sea.

Roswell New Mexico March 17 Hereford breeders from hundreds of miles attended the third annual auction of the Eastern New Mexico Hereford Breeders Association. The 116 bulls averaged 101 a head with the baby beef sale averaging 11.10 a hundred pounds the highest in the United States this year. Nelson Ainsworth Milensand New Mexico owned the grand champion baby beef bought by J C Penney Company. The tail end calf sold for 18 cents a pound to New Mexico Military Institute.

Two Killed in Crash Near Childress Texas
Two people died and six were injured in a head on collision nine miles south of Childress Texas last night.
