Navy divers completed the three month operation to raise submarine S-4 off Provincetown. Twenty four divers logged 566 dives to 102 feet, with no serious injuries though caisson disease cases occurred. Salvage ships Falcon and Bushnell plus other vessels supported the effort led by Commander Saunders and Captain King.

Texarkana Arkansas March 17 United Press reports Charlie Frazier awaiting trial for the July 1926 murder of Policeman Hence Giles escaped Miller county jail by sawing bars in his third cell and sliding down a rope of blankets. He had killed Giles earlier and was sent to Texas prison from Marion county for robbery with firearms. He escaped again last December and was recaptured nearby three weeks later. Police note a long criminal record in Texas Arkansas and Tennessee.

Falls Under Train Here Arm Is Lost
