From Moscow to the Arctic and beyond nearly 130 million Soviet citizens will vote Sunday on a single Communist list for the fifth Supreme Soviet. Three U.S. observers accompany the process as part of the international coverage.
Texas cotton leaders outlined a two point plan to avert a possible billion dollar loss in 1938. The Statewide Cotton Committee urged farmers to plant all allotted cotton acres and withdraw acres from the soil bank before March 28. They warned the 1,868,913 soil bank acres could yield $100 per acre, yet production would boost value through processing and commerce. Burris C. Jackson said the issue affects every business in the state and taxpayers are bearing the shutdown cost. Edward Bush cautioned a drop in harvest could cost thousands of jobs and millions in salaries, as related industries suffer.
