Tragedy in Haskell County Mother Visits Friend
In Haskell County near Weinett Texas four miles west, the Bennett family home burned Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Bennett walked to a neighbor and returned to find the house engulfed. Three children ages one three and six died in the blaze. A Bennett brother aiding rescue suffered burns.

Band Firestorms Across Florida in Hot Minute
Palm Beach reports say the West Palm Beach municipal band sparked fires during performances. On March 18 1925 at the athletic field the Breaker hotel burned as the band played Therell Be a Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight. The next day in Orlando a warehouse burned a block away while the band played Keep the Home Fires Burning. The following day at Lake Kola a private hospital near the lake caught fire as the band played Red Hot Mama. Fire chief Alfred P Sadler urged asbestos uniforms for band members.

Youth Fliers Kite With Wire Like Shock Hits Man
Gaston Gibbs, 15, while flying a kite with baling wire near here, touched a high voltage line and was knocked unconscious. He lost three fingers on his right hand and had melted shoe nails. His brother Weldon, 18, a scout, revived him and they rushed him to a Cameron hospital.

In Pawhuska Oklahoma March 18 two confessions alleged by Ramsey were read at the Hale Ramsey preliminary murder hearing. Testimony links Hale to the deaths of W E Smith and Henry Roan with Burkhart Grammer and Kirby named in the Smith case. Burkhart arrested after refusing to testify. Kirby died in 1923 and Grammer in an auto crash.

Burglars spent hours hoisting a 700 pound Gulf Refining Company safe from 210 Monroe street using crowbars planks and ropes. They loaded it onto a truck blew the door off with glycerin then left the safe fifteen miles away in the countryside after scattering company records. A hotel porter saw three men nearby and a Santa Fe foreman found the damaged safe the next morning. Police remain at a loss for leads as officers comb tracks and footprints.

Tex Thornton of U S Torpedo Co said a solid six inch stream topped the 116 foot derrick, with the well rated around 500 barrels and maintaining a gushing spray for days as activities remained feverish at the site.
