William M. Spitler, 80, retired building contractor, died after a long illness at Veterans Hospital. He had lived in Amarillo two years with daughter Mrs. J. W. Shipley. Survived by another daughter Wilma Spitler of Fort Worth, son M. M. Spitler of El Paso, three sisters, and three grandchildren. Body to be sent to Lampasas for burial. arrangements by Blackburn-Shaw.

Three Hurt In Okla City Traffic Crash At English Field Corner
Three Oklahoma City residents were injured in a late afternoon crash when their car hit a sign at the southwest corner of English Field on the city highway. Mrs. L. S. Kennedy was hospitalized at St. Anthony's with a broken leg and possible serious injuries. Passenger couple Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Lloyd sustained minor cuts.

Twenty three boosters of the Children's Home pooled donations to back re sales at the Amarillo Fat Stock Show baby beef auction. About 1800 dollars was raised from the calf purchases. D L McDonald led the pooling effort and bought four calves for resale with an average bid of 250 dollars each. Proceeds benefitted the Home with multiple resale rounds. Contributors included R T Alexander Son Canadian Frank Carter Pampa Pronger Bros Stratford and others.

Amarillo Stallion, owned by A. R. Anderson of Amarillo, placed third in its division at the Southwestern Exhibition and Fat Stock Show in Fort Worth. The five gaited horse, named Chief of Sunset, was ridden by Buck Barlow and had been a top honor winner at last summer's local show.
