The Associated Press reports two Air Force missiles were destroyed on their pads Saturday. An 82-foot Atlas at Vandenberg AFB California exploded while being fueled. A Bomarc B interceptor at Cape Canaveral Fla. was also destroyed during a launch attempt. No injuries reported. An investigation is underway.

Liquor Agents Call Parents to Curb Amarillo Drinking
Texas Liquor Control Board agents served notices Saturday to involve parents in curbing minor drinking in Amarillo. Six sets of parents were summoned to board headquarters after 15 youths were arrested for possessing beer or liquor in parked cars. Nine youths paid fines of 10 dollars and court costs of 15.50 each. five offenders under 21, including three girls, faced juvenile court handling.
