Stolen Amarillo Plane Baffles Mt. Carmel Officers

MT. CARMEL NL March 44 A two seater plane stolen a week earlier at Amarillo surfaced at a nearby airport. A man arrested at a Mt. Carmel hotel identified by three persons as pilot Sheriff E H Kennard reported a bayonet and a sawed off shotgun found in the aircraft. The detained man Robert Pryor 27 Tulsa denied knowledge of the plan while awaiting further questioning. Arlington Gas Line Blast Shuts Several Local Plants

A main line of United Gas Company ruptured northeast of the Eastern Star home in Arlington at about 7 AM. Fire crews found no fire, but traffic jam hindered response. Gas service was halted to the Magnolia refinery, American Manufacturing in Fort Worth, and Texas Electric Service Handley plant, while Fort Worth power remained unaffected. The line carries gas from East Texas oil fields.
