At the John Warlick farm 14 miles southwest of Amarillo a cow named Bossy has produced five calves in under two years. A recent birth brought twins, with a single calf added in between. Mr Warlick is the father of Mrs Holt of 803 Fairmont Street.
Mrs. Kathleen Burke Hale of Los Angeles known as the Angel of France sailed from New York aboard the Conte Di Savoia to survey conditions in France. She raised 4,000,000 for American friends of France in the last war and served prominently as a war nurse.
Sunday is forecast to be fair and warmer for Amarillo and surrounding West Texas areas. New Mexico sees partly cloudy skies in the south with snow squalls over northern mountains and colder conditions elsewhere, followed by a Monday clearing. Temperatures yesterday ranged around the 40s, with minimal precipitation trailed as trace in the 24 hour period ending 4 PM yesterday.
An Oklahoma couple, Mr. and Mrs. Cal Prather of Erick, unearthed a quart jar packed with paper money buried at 500 Monroe Street Amarillo. The mystery dates to the late W. M. Cooper known as Captain Cooper who died in 1934 and left the secret in his former Amarillo home. Neighbors and spiritualists aided the dig and kudos to an expert with a divining rod, with initial recoveries suggesting several hundred dollars possibly up to 2000 dollars. The buried money was located in the corner of a barn on the property now cleared by spading.
Cattlemen from across the Panhandle and several states converge on Amarillo for the Panhandle Livestock Association convention and the 11th Amarillo Fat Stock Show. The event features speeches by Grover B. Hull and others, a public banquet, dances, and open lobby entertainment while ranch crews maintain operations back home.

Co chairs Tom Wingate and Herschel Tomlinson outlined plans to intensify efforts starting Monday.

Police said they expect arrests soon in the attempted assassination of Dr. Orestes Ferrara member of Cuba s constituent assembly and former ambassador to the United States. He was shot in the back as his car was fired on. the chauffeur Rufino Alvarez was killed. Ferrara is in emergency hospital.
The WPA authorizes a $42,352 paving allotment for Canyon. District manager A A Meredith was notified. Canyon agrees to spend $20,000 on grading base paving walks curbs gutters ditches drainage facilities and related work.
At Matador Ranch Hartley County March 2 a 3600 head herd the largest in years reached shipping pens at Murdo after gathering from Alamocitos Division. John Mackenzie says the drive preserves old cattle policy of selling by the head and aged steers. Matador runs about 20,000 cows across Motley Cottle and Dickens counties with steers held until they reach prime age.
Amarillo police recovered a stolen 33 coupe from Springfield Missouri and arrested three men. One suspect admitted stealing the car after being questioned by Capt. R. M. Allred near Fourth Avenue and Johnson Street. A bystander reported the trio as suspicious before patrol involvement.

The first member of Col. Charles Sweeney's 100 man Foreign Legion of the Air arrives in Paris. Sebastian de Mier, a Mexican aviator, says Sweeney signed him up in London two months ago to recruit foreign pilots for ten squadrons. De Mier reports uncertainty about the project among Parisians. Sweeney was in Texas recently and may be in Toronto now.
Grover Hill is the center of a testimonial dinner for Grover Hill and his cow country peers. Ernest O Thompson and R F Underwood will speak about his boyhood and early politics while toastmaster Jay Taylor calls the event no holds barred. About 500 cattlemen and professionals are expected to attend the stag dinner at 6 15 pm with steak on the menu and reservations urged before Monday afternoon.
The USDA Club led by E. R. Henson will honor Grover Hill at a Tuesday noon luncheon in Cathedral Hall near St Marys Academy. The recently appointed assistant secretary of agriculture will be the principal speaker. Reservations cost 60 cents and may be made by calling 7871.

He pledged to fight until the Allies are defeated and to secure hegemony over Bohemia Moravia Slovakia Poland and Hungary as part of expanding Germany’s raw materials access. A tornado struck Evansville Indiana this afternoon causing one child death and injuries to at least nine people. Many buildings were damaged in the north industrial section as emergency crews cordon off the area.
