Body of Girl Found After Killer Talks
In Rome Georgia on June 25 a 14 year old girl, Patricia Ann Cook, was found dead in the Etowah River near Cartersville. Willie Gray Cochran, a paroled ex convict, confessed to the murder and directed authorities to the body after a two day search. He said he lured her from her home on Monday, drove her to a sawmill road, where he killed her. The body was recovered weighted with chains and a monkey wrench and still wore the bathing suit in which she disappeared. The parents were at work at the time.

Youth Jailed In Gun Death In East Harlem Feud
Police arrested Victor Louis Diaz 19 after a tip from the Dragon gang tied him to the murder of 17 year old Carlos Feliciano during a feud over Carmen Machuca. Additional arrests included Florentino Valleria 17 Louis Ramirez 16 Angelo Dalmau 15 and Emanuel Granna 17 along with the girl Carmen.

Farmers approved federal marketing quotas for next year's wheat in an Agriculture Department referendum. From 28 of 86 states, 104,533 votes favored quotas to 49,382 against, a 67.9 percent margin.
