A Saturday matinee at the State Theater sponsored by Beta Sigma Phi Sorority collected about 3000 books for a Preventorium library. About 1200 children enjoyed Shirley Temple cartoon features and Popeye and Donald Duck, then received Tarzan Cups ice cream. Top book donors were Pat Higgins and Bill Perkins with 51 books each. Charles Osgood Jr. had 48. The 13 other top readers each got a 30 to 45 minute Braniff plane ride over Palo Duro Canyon on Tuesday morning.
