Austin waiter Bonner, a Black civil rights activist, begins a sit in at Governor Connally's Austin office after a two hour talk with a top aide. He vows daily demonstrations this week unless Connally meets him, and says 20 to 100 supporters could join. Connally is away in Houston with no comment. American soldiers, North Korean troops die in Korea clash

A U N command says six miles inside South Korea a clash killed two U S soldiers and two North Korean troops and a Korean police officer died. An American and a North Korean were wounded as US casualties climbed in two days to three dead and two wounded. The 1st Cavalry Division pressed patrols near the DMZ and Munsan Ni as names of the dead were released.

Blast Flings Man From Trailer in Kansas Farm Accident

Fred Burscheidt, an employee of Rich and Kenneth Pittman, was asleep in a farm trailer northwest of Liberal Kansas when a blast from a faulty water heater sent him through the wall into weeds. He escaped with minor bruises as a heavy rainstorm drenched the area and a knife was driven into the trailer. The trailer was nearly destroyed.
