Tornadoes Kill Eight in Kansas and Injure One Hundred
A series of tornadoes swept through southern Kansas and into Kansas City area killing at least eight people and injuring about 100. Four died at South Park and several others perished near Lebo Burlingame while homes were demolished and livestock killed. Houses were unroofed and a three mile by half mile swath damaged, with many residents hospitalized or left homeless.

The Pampa Gas company, serving White Deer and Panhandle, has been sold to Peabody, Haughtering and company of Chicago, which controls the Federal Public Utilities company. The sale is retroactive to June and effective July 16, with no change in management. W. L. Woodward becomes general manager of the Southwestern division. The Federal Public Utilities company operates utilities in Oklahoma and Texas and attended the winding up of the sale. J. A. Robertson of Galveston retires from the Pampa gas property.
