Trucker Dies as Fruit Truck Crash Near Nara Visa New Mexico
Elton E. Triplett 57 of Fort Scott Kansas died when the semi truck overturned on U S 54 near Nara Visa New Mexico. Allen L. Goyer, driver of the other vehicle, was treated for back injuries and is in good condition. Triplett recently moved from Huntsville to Fort Scott and had traveled to Arizona to join Goyer on the return trip. Burial will be in Fort Scott with local arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home Tucumcari.

The GAO cannot trace how 1.7 billion dollars in pacification funds for South Vietnam were spent or committed through July last year. Auditors found only 339.2 million in obligations of the 2.1 billion authorized for 1968 69 and 1970. The report was distributed July 1 to Defense Secretary Laird and committees, but kept classified at White House request. CORDS administered the funds with overall pacification responsibility.
