University of Michigan coed Margaret A. Phillips 25 of Coopersville remained in a coma after a head wound from a shooting in her Ann Arbor apartment near campus. She underwent four hours of brain surgery at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital with one slug still embedded. Police said she was found by a roommate and appeared to have admitted something.
The Panhandle city faced flooding Saturday as a storm dropped 1.75 inches with isolated areas near Osage and Interstate 40 submerged. Water covered 19th and S. Grand and the Amarillo Blvd. E. underpass, with mud causing temporary train blockages. An additional 0.3 inch was recorded.
