COLLEGE STATION July 6 Dean Charles Pur year 70 a Texas A and M College educator was reported critical today after his right leg was amputated to halt infection. He joined the college staff in 1889 and has been dean emeritus since 1932 following a stroke that ended active teaching.
Several men’s furnishings stores and haberdasheries in Amarillo closed two hours earlier last night signaling the start of summer closing hours. The change, extending through July and August, ends the previous practice of staying open until 9 o’clock on Saturdays.
