State Highway Plan Approved for 70 Miles in Panhandle

In McAlester Oklahoma, July 2, miners at Messina Coal Company mine eight miles south of Halleyville were saved when an burning fuse detonating fifty sticks of dynamite was discovered. Nacogdoches July 2 Henry Briley 43 killed his wife as she slept with their baby then fatally shot himself. The infant was unharmed. Briley had been ill and authorities believe he was mentally unbalanced. Mrs Briley 29 formerly Miss Lester Bass. The couple had five other children and the family lived three miles south of Chizens, east of town.
