Vice President Garner is invited to Washington in September to help chart the New Deal path. President Roosevelt will use his experience on upcoming Congress issues and may have Garner deliver a nationwide broadcast as drive for election of a New Deal Congress begins.
A Pacific Missouri crash killed Fred Thost 28 his wife Doris Jean 28 and their 4-year-old daughter after a car side swiped another vehicle and plunged down a 10 foot embank ment. Five others were injured including their son Norman 8 and two De Soto residents Van Trane 22 and Charles Trane 24. C F Kohler of Corpus Christi and his wife were seriously injured. The front seat occupants were trapped as the car burst into flames after being sprayed with gasoline.
Five babies born in rapid succession at North Plains Hospital Borger between 1 15 and 1 20 PM Wednesday. Daughters to Raymond Neufeld W H Rives and A B Steveson couples. Sons to Gilbert Lindemoor and Ray Moreland couples. Nurses aided as Borger welcomed its five newest citizens.
The grandchildren of William H. Erhart, John and Henrietta Ruggles, both under eight, were burned to death when a house fire swept through their mother's home in San Mateo California. Firemen cite a short circuit as the likely cause while Mrs Erhart Ruggles was away and servants escaped with difficulty.
Intermittent showers moved through the Panhandle, dropping temperatures. Canyon reported half an inch, Goodnight and Axtola inch, and Amarillo saw 3. Temperature highs reached 92 and lows 70 amid rainfall. Railroads tracked totals with Amartillo area showing scattered moisture. Dalhart noted a quarter inch, with Hartley Channing and Tascosa also receiving rain.
The Adamowicz brothers Benjamin and Joseph landed their monoplane in a potato field near Nedlitz Themendorf about 10 miles east of Berlin while en route from Paris to Warsaw. After submitting papers to local authorities they planned to press on tomorrow, hoping to retry next year.
Prayers for rain were offered in Dallas churches as nightfall brought clouds and moisture to drought parched farms. Reports show 1.12 inches in about 30 minutes at Waco with temperatures dropping from 99 to 80. China Springs and San Antonio also received measurable showers.

Amos Clark 22, former Amarillo College Badger and son of A. F. Clark, died soon after a motorcycle collision with a milk truck at Seventh Avenue and Pierce Street. The driver, J. C. Weaver, uninjured, reported neither vehicle was traveling fast. Clark’s skull was fractured in two places. Funeral pending.

The Clarence Darrow National Recovery Review Board says NRA codes foster monopoly and punish small firms. It calls for abandoning price fixing and notes codes empower powerful interests while offering little relief to small enterprises. The final report was released as Roosevelt prepared for a voyage.
London July 2. Doorn Holland dispatch reports stirring developments in Germany watched from Doorn where former Emperor Wilhelm is in retirement. Yesterday his staff were busy with errands and Wilhelm stayed indoors near a telephone rather than walking about the estate.
Chester I. Long former United States senator from Kansas and former president of the American Bar Association died in Washington after a brief illness. He was 74.
President Roosevelt boards the cruiser Houston at Annapolis for a 13 000 mile journey to American possessions in the Atlantic and Pacific. The entourage includes Mrs Roosevelt Franklin Jr John, secret service, White House staff and reporters. The flotilla advances down Chesapeake Bay toward Hampton Roads and Cape Henry for official briefings and Pacific stops.
General Lazaro Cardenas, 39, elected Mexico's constitutional president with early returns showing at least 80 percent of the vote. Villareal and Tejeda trailed as police stayed on alert in capital and major cities for a peaceful vote.
The Texas Supreme Court denied the state's request for a rehearing on its bid to review a land title suit involving 525 acres in Hutchinson County and a monetary judgment of 916,578. The state had won in the trial court but lost at the Court of Civil Appeals.
At a house party in East Tawas Michigan Arthur Woods 52 opened fire with an automatic rifle after complaining his sleep was disturbed. Sheriff Charles C Miller Dr Stanley Somers Lloyd Hayes and Hayes died. Roy Hickey wounded as Woods surrendered at Tawas City.
Tokyo reports predict Premier Makoto Saito will quit tomorrow. Newspapers foresee swift military pressure for a militaristic cabinet after the resignation. The move follows a finance department scandal involving Under Secretary Kuroda.
Borger reports B. C. Shulkey superintendent of schools is on vacation in Washington and the East and is attending a Rotary International convention in Detroit per word from friends.
Berlin reported Hitler ordered ten more executions in the purge against rebel leaders while President von Hindenburg, at Neudeck, required a major medical council. Goering said more executions would be announced. von Papen faced house arrest as von Bose killed himself. Captain Boehm was executed in Munich as the purge intensified.
Chandler Rush eight year old son of Mr and Mrs Avery Rush of 2218 Ong Street remained in critical condition at St Anthony s Hospital after a taxi struck him Saturday. He suffered a severe cut from the mouth to the right ear and a deep head gash. Taxi driver Roy Mays of 301 North Johnson Street stopped at once and Sheriff Bill Adams rushed the child to hospital.
